Hello,

German is spoken in Austria generally. Sometimes there are jobs where English is predominantly spoken. You can work as a language teacher. (Kindergarten, school, university or private) where English speaking staff are looking for:

At the moment the most visited and also useful site for jobhunting in Austria is karriere.at. Although a lot of vacancies appear on different websites you will find almost every job requiring higher education on this site, that is every company advertising a vacancy publishes also on this site.

The major jobsites in Austria are these (mind the ranking).

www.monster.at

www.karriere.at

www. stepstone.at

and for higher positions please google for "standard karriere", it's the online jobboard of a relevant newspaper.

careesma and the other site (especially www.ams.at - which is the labour-market-service) are less relevant.

If you are well educated or have a relevant background (working experience), I would highly suggest you apply with a executive consultancy (like Stanton Chase, Hill Woltron, Deloitte, Pendl & Piswanger,..) or a personnel consultancy (where there are many, locally). The relevant ones are ISG (www.isg.at) and IVENTA (www.iventa.at), as the have the majority of opportunities online. If you have an IT background check EPUNKT (www.epunkt.net). Don't forget about XING (relevant for Austria, Germany and Switzerland) and LinkedIn (internationally), as the get used more and more by recruiters seeking for candidates.

Higher level are: www.experteer.at / www.experteer.de and www.placement24.com (basic free + paid membership).

A pretty good jobcrawler is: www.jobkralle.at (also checking companies homepages).

Here's a ranking of the top companies in AT: http://www.businesspeople.at/de/leaders-ranking/top-unternehmen.html

If you are looking for "just a job to earn a living" check: www.willhaben.at, jobsection.
