Hello Andri, I was sure that I had corrected  this for you!

It's almost 4am here, and my eyes are stilllwide awake. :-0 A friend told me about this link and I can hardly wait  until morning comes  for practising my English. I still need time  to think what I'm going* to say in English especially when I speak face-to-face; my brain suddenly stops working. Sometimes when I make a mistake  I like to blame myself and say: 'Why isn't Indonesian an international language?' ))) It's really nice to meet you June. See you soon.

*always use 'going', Andri, because although 'gonna' is used in American English, it is not used in British English, so I must correct  how I have to; but 'gonna' is alright in its own country where it is used. :)

The only other thing is to give all countries and languages a capital letter.

You have done very well, Andri - I hope you are still with me after alll this time  in writing back to you. :)

June :)

Hello Silv!

I  was curious about you learning French and Italian and wanted to know how you are getting on with them?

I'm a bored housewife, I lived in  NY for 8 years. My two older children  speak fluent English, but still need to learn more because we moved to  Ecuador and they speak to each other in English.

My biggest problem in English  are the 'phrasal' verbs, I'm so lazy, that I still do  not use them.

Perhaps a little suggestion abut them? Thanks very much.

First of all Silve you must write in sentences.

A sentence always begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. Check how I have put your words into sentences.  As well as helping  to make sense of words, sentences also present your work and your thoughts better,.

I will have to return to phrasal verbs a bit later - it is now  4.15am - and I have to go to bed.:)

See you soon,

June :)

Hello Kalima!

Welcome to our group. :

Hello my name is Kalima. I live in Kazakhstan. I want to learn English.

Kalima, always write in sentences,

A sentence always begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.

Can you see the difference how your words look after I have written them in sentences?  :)

I will help you as much as I can.

If you can only write a few sentences - no matter how small, I can correct them and help you to learn.

Keep going!

You are doing welll.

June :)

Hello. Nice to meet you June. How are you? (Very well, thank you.  :))

I don't want to write many words, because I am afraid  I will make mistakes. I have been  going  on an English course for two years, but I still cannot write or speak correctly. it is hard for me to memorize English words. If I learn one word today, I cannot remember the translation the next day. I do not always talk in English, only in this course.

Can  you understand me? I wrote as well as I could.

Yes, I can understand what you are saying Kalima.

Two years seem a long time to learn a language, but you must not criticise your self to much; it is hard to learn another language and you are to be praised for trying!

I am just the same  in trying to learn French as you are trying to learn English. I keep thinking in English all the while and I learn one word and forget six words!  :)

Do not worry Kalima. Just keep going and I will correct for you.

Also have a look through the grammar pages I have created to see if anything helps you.

Do not give up - those two year you have studied have not been wasted. It is all stored away and as you become more familiar and confident - you will be surprised at how much will come back to you.

June :)

Hello Kalim!

I come from England and I live in an area known as the Midlands - because it is the middle of England !  -:)

I  am a native speaker of English - but  since I have started this group - I have  not had time for my languages, and I have forgotten most of what I had learned - which wasn't much!  :(

I don't think there is a fast way to learning any language. I know some groups here on busuu like to say  that English is easy, just relax and have fun...and that is not true; but the leaders of these groups are often  not native speakers of English!  :).

The 'have fun ' bit is alright  -  I like to be fairly lighthearted when I  answer you all - but  there is not an easy way except studying, reading  English  newspapers / books and  watching tv  and listening to English if you can.

If you write as much as you can that is  helpful - you learn a lot from your mistakes and you also gain confidence if you can  write  and make yourself understood..

Let me correct your messsage:

Thank you very much, June. Can I ask  where are you from? Where do you live?

How many languages do you know? How do you learn other languages? What are you doing to learn other languages quickly?

I have prepared  a few pages of grammar among the topics. I have   moved some to the top of page 1 for members  to see and to read.

Thank you Kalim!

June :)
