I prefer dogs; they are more friendly and beautiful than cats.

If you have had a bad day,  the dog stays with you  all the time. Cats only want food. I have a dog  and I'm very happy with it.

You are right anaspanish, dogs sense when you are not happy and they are not happy either and they try to comfort you.

When you are happy, they are happy and their tail wags again! :)

I think I would prefer dogs as they are more loyal. I've read some articles somewhere about dogs helping their disabled owners and I think that's just great..

Hello Maggie!  :)

I think I would prefer dogs as they are more loyal. I've read some articles  somwhere about dogs helping  their disabled owners and I think that's just great.

This is true Maggie, they put washing in machines and take it out, they can open doors they can even help with the shopping.

Also there are special dogs to help the blind and the deaf. There are even dogs who can alert their owners if they are about to have a fit or an attack.

Thank you for your comment Maggie.

June :)

Yes, they are a very loyal friend and serve us all very well.

Hello Annamarie!

Before  I had a  dog, I preferred cats, but now I like both. For me, the cat is more in dependent and I like that, but a dog is the best friend for the human.  It is the same if you are ill? or worried, your dog is always there.

'Before I had a dog' is saying that you did not have a dog before now.

I think you are right about the dog being the best friend for a human.. They are always there for you.

Dogs are also very brave and loyal.

Thank you for your comment  Annamarie!

Hello Edgar!

Welcome.  :)

I think that dogs are friendly, loyal and playful, but I remember that when I was a child I preferred to play with cats by throwing*  them a little ball or shine a laser light on the wall to make them jump in a crazy way trying to catch it.

I hope I have said what you mean in your last sentence, Edgar. I think I have because cats are very funny when they try to catch something which moves very fast and goes everwhere!.

* I checked this word in the translator and it said 'to launch' and the nearest in English  is 'to throw'.

Thank you Edgar for your comments.

Hello Maggie. :)

I am not sure  what the name for all the dogs who help different kinds of people.

I think 'service dogs' is a good general term, because they do perform a service for their owners who would't have  good life without them.

Thank you Maggie. :)
