Why not? :) Here on busuu, it is inevitable that we meet people through our interactions (teaching and learning). I have made friends with people from here and we communicate via Skype. I think there is always a possibility to meet up in person, like when you travel to their country or when they travel to yours. The relationship can turn from something that is just "virtual" or online to something that is on a person-to-person level or real-life. If you go on YouTube you'll find videos of lots of couples who are trying to make their online relationships work. Our world has become "smaller" because of the Internet. Somehow, the distance between people isn't that "far" anymore.
