This year we went for a holiday trip to the Baltic Sea. We travel to the Baltic Sea every year. Normally we journey in April or May. We don’t like to lay lazy on the beach; we go for long walks along the seashore instead. That’s much more pleasure.
This year we went in August. The weather was rather hot. It had been raining a lot the weeks before. Everywhere on fields there were shallow pools and millions of midges were all around.
Next year April is the favourite date for our journey.

(Everywhere on fields there were shallow pools) In the fields there were shallow pools everywhere  harbouring millions of midges were all around. Next year Apri we favour April s the favourite date for our journey.  holiday.

We go there (travel to the Baltic Sea) every year; normally we journey in April or May. This year we went in August. We don’t like to just lie idle lay lazy on the beach, but we rather  we go for long walks along the seashore instead. That’s much more fun  pleasure.. The weather was rather hot and it  had been raining a lot the weeks before. Everywhere  around on fields there were shallow pools with  and millions of midges were all around.Next year I would prefer to travel in April.     is the favourite date for our journey.

An excellent job, I agree with the other comments but have given you a couple of other alternatives. As for midges, Grace is right the ones in Scotland are legendary and will eat anyone folish enough to get in their way! On the plus side the cosmetics company "Avon" produce a body lotion called "Skin So Soft" and amazingly this is reputed to keep them at bay. There is even a rumour that the British Army uses it but how true that is I wouldn't like to guess!!
