The financial crisis

Is the financial crisis affecting you personally?

I think that everybody suffer by the financial crisis.
This is a dark period and here in Italy we have a tecnical government to fix this critical situation.
Few weeks ago the last government fell down and the president opts for this solution(I mean the technical government) so they will try to reduce our debt but we really have to pay a lot of taxes.

Well written, Maiale131street, on a difficult subject. We hear a lot about the problems in Europe, but we have been lucky in Australia - except for the share market. I think I had better go and plant some more vegetables in my garden or I won't be eating anything this summer! I'm sorry, but I do like the exchange rate for the Aussie dollar against the Euro.

Governments usually just "fall", they don't fall down. Ciao.

The exchange rate: if you travel within Europe, you don't have one, as everyone uses the Euro (except the British of course). But when I travel from Australia, I have to use my Australian dollars to buy Euro. In January 2009, one dollar only bought 51 centesimi. By January 2010, one dollar bought 64 centesimi and by January 2011 it bought 74 centesimi. This makes it much cheaper for me to travel to Italy - but much more expensive for an Italian to travel to Australia!! So naturally, I like the exchange rate today.

"I do like...." This just means "I like....", but with a bit more emphasis/stress. Aussie means Australian, of course. A presto.
