At the dentist

How often do you go to the dentist? Do you mind going?

I usually go to the dentist two times a year. But last time I went there about 9 months ago. It is good that there is this task on Busuu. It has reminded me about dentists. I have to make an appointment with the dentist. (Is there any difference between an appointment and an assignment?) I don't mind going to the dentist, of course. But it is quite expensive and some people go to the dentist when they have money or when it is impossible to suffer a toothache. Many people visit the dentist when he (she) cannot already do anything except of extracting a tooth. It happened with me when I was about 15 year old. I had a bad fear of dentists. I avoided them by any means. When I did go to the dentist it was too late. I have lost three my teeth. I cannot help adding that modern dentist tools and medicine are much better than 20 years ago. Now you get an injection in a gum and can forget about any pain. When my tooth was extracting 20 years ago, my hands were tied to the chair and two nurses were holding my body and head. Eventually I didn’t feel pain because I lost consciousness. Take care of yourself, friends.

But it is quite expensive and some people go to the dentist when they have money or when they are suffering from a very painful toothache. Many people visit the dentist when he (or she) cannot already do anything except have a tooth extracted.  This happened to me when I was about 15 years old. I had an extreme fear of dentists. I avoided them by any means. When I did go to the dentist it was too late. I have lost three of my teeth. I should add that modern dental tools and medicine are much better than 20 years ago. It reminds me I have to cancel my dental appointment for next week. Good work!!

If you are going to cancel your visit because of my story, don't do it. But you made me laugh, really. :)))

Thank you.

Oh not at all. I just would rather watch the second Euro 2012 semifinal than sit in a dentist's chair. :)

What team is your favorite? I think Germany will win. But I know exactly it will not be Russia :)

I like England because that is my background. But I think it might be Spain vs. Germany in the final (unless they could meet in the semis). Germany looked very impressive yesterday.

Ok. I am writing "Boomer is for England." We will look at the final on the 1st July.

Good! I will definitely be watching, regardless of which teams are in the final. :)

I usually go to the dentist twice (although "two times" is not grammatically incorrect, it is better English to say "twice") a year. But lLast time I went there about 9 months ago. It is good that there is this task on Busuu. It has reminded me about dentists. I have to make an appointment with the dentist. (Is there any difference between an appointment and an assignment? "appointment" is the word you want here! "assignment" is generally used of a task that one has to do, like "a homework assignment") I don't mind going to the dentist, of course. But it is quite expensive and some people go to the dentist when they have money or if they find it impossible to endure a toothache. Many people visit the dentist when they can no longer do anything except pull ("extract" has the right meaning, but the set, colloquial expression is "pull a tooth") a tooth. This happened to me when I was about 15 year old. I had a bad fear of dentists. I avoided them by any means. When I did go to the dentist it was too late, and I lost three of my teeth. I cannot help adding that modern dentistry tools and medicine are much better than 20 years ago. Now you get an injection in the gum and can forget about any pain. When my tooth was pulled 20 years ago, my hands were tied to the chair and two nurses were holding my body and head. Eventually I didn’t feel the pain because I lost consciousness. Take care of yourself, my friends. (The last phrase it is fine without the "my"...but the "my" makes it even better and funnier!)

Your writing is very good. Congratulations and keep it up!! I only gave you 4 stars...but that is because the only submissions I give 5 stars to are absolutely perfect. Yours is REALLY good.

Thank you so much. A number of stars is the last cause why I am here :) But I will be very proud of getting  5 stars from you. Your review is really very helpful.
