The Universe

I don’t want to report here something that I have read somewhere.  I prefer to tell only my personal and simple experience about the my view of the universe.
In the past, I have had two wonderful views of the sky in the at night. On the first time occasion I was in a desert in Australia, near Ayers Rock.  I remember that my touristic guide had been explaining to us about the galaxy and the Milky Way, pointing at planets, stars and constellations.  It was all very charming, since, when you are in an absolute darkness, the celestial bodies always appear bigger and brighter.  Another time, I experienced the same thing all alone.  I was in north Ethiopia, on an upland, in a lodge formed by several bungalows, situated in a place far from any town.  I stood on the doorway of my bungalow, to admire, on the a warm night, an amazing and immense sky, full of shining stars that appeared near close to me in an extraordinary way.  I wondered if in the future I would have ever seen again a similar sky in at night.  so I remained outdoors for a long time, in the perfect and absolute silence that surrounded me.  It was wonderful. Never in Europe  have I ever seen similar fascinating skies in the at nights.

Many people would probably write your last sentence in a different order, but I like it in the order in which it has been written. Many people would write:"I have never seen ..........", but I prefer:"Never in Europe have I ever seen ......" as you have written it.

It was all very charming since, when you are in an absolute darkness, the celestial bodies always appear bigger and brighter. The second time, I experienced the same thing all alone. I was in north Ethiopia, on an upland,(do you mean "a high point of land"?) in a lodge consisting of several bungalows located far from any town. I stood in the doorway of my bungalow, to admire, in the warm night, an amazing and immense sky, full of shining stars that appeared near to me in an extraordinary way. I wondered if, in the future, I would ever see again a similar sky at  night, so I remained outdoors for a long time, in the perfect and absolute silence that surrounded me. It was wonderful. Never in Europe have I seen similar fascinating skies at the nights. (or: In Europe, I've never seen similar, fascinating skies at night.)
