Portugal passes fresh tax hikes

http://www.euronews.com/ Portugal's parliament has passed the country's largest tax hike package in decades. The changes form part of Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho's new 2013 budget programme. Lisbon has to meet targets set by a 78-billion-euro bailout agreement with the EU and IMF. The bill passed despite the main opposition Socialists voting against as the governing coalition parties control 132 seats in the 230 seat parliament. The government must now wait to see if the cuts will be challenged in the constitutional court. Judges threw out similar measures earlier this year. Ministers have already slashed public sector wages, triggering a series of demonstrations. This new relates a similar situation that we are living in Spain. Like in Spain, the portuguese society is suffering one of the highest tax hike in many time and hard cut measures. The government passed this measures and the socialist party was opposed with it, just like in Spain. Maybe it is necessary to do this type of measures, but it is also true that it will be a real prejudice for the poors and middle class, and not for the rich people and great capitals. It is sad, but, what we could do to this respect?

The government passed these measures and the socialist party was opposed to it, just like in Spain.
Maybe it is necessary to do (take or implement) this type of measure, but it is also true that it will be a real prejudice for the poors and the middle class, and not for the rich people and great capitalists.
It is sad, but what could we do to this respecn concerning this?
