A bit about politics

Say which ministry each of these photos corresponds to. Give reasons for your answer.

Money raising and expending is a matter of the Ministry of Finance. Curing people is managed by the Ministry of Health. Justice is administered by the judges under the political supervision of the Ministry of Justice.

Raising money and allocating expenditure is the function of the Ministry of Finance. Providing medical care to people is managed by the Ministry of Health. Justice is administered by the judges under the political supervision of the Ministry of Justice.

Very good, Stefano. Is the jusdiciary not independent of political interference in Italy?

Yes, according to our Constitution judiciary is independent from the Ministry of Justice and from the Government.  In recent times, there is a strond debate fed by Berlusconi, our former Prime Minister, about the supposed non-independence of the judges, due to the well-know suits he is directly involved in.  He is continuously claiming that judges are "communists", pursuing him because of his different political opinions: to my opinion, it is not so.  Of course, they have their political ideas like every person, but I would rather say that judges are effectively independent.  Berlusconi, being also an entrepreneur, is using his media and TV networks to convince people of his innocence.  When he was at power, most of his efforts were made to push the Italian Parliament, where he still has the majority of deputies, to approve "ad personam" laws, that is to say, to shorten times for prescription, decriminalize budget crimes, and so on.

Money raising and expanding ("expending" could be right, but then the ministry of finance should not be involved. Usually, expends are decided by the prime minister and it's council of different ministries, and he should make laws to recover enough money to support it's politic of expend choices. As long as he could recover that money, that would work!) is a matter of the Ministry of Finance. Curing people is managed by the ministry of health. Justice is administered by the judges under the political supervision of the ministry of justice (And is there a complete independance between justice and state government?).

Just one enormous fault! ("to expend" or "to expand")! May be you should say it another way? I know quite well about italian history an Berlusconi. I am not at all supporting him. Although, as I am humble, I would say that I am very sorry about what that fabulous country has to suffer to find her way in the new world financial logic.

Excellent work!

Since one or two decades, in Italya the Ministry of Finance is actually the Ministry of Economics (including Finance, Treasury, and Budget), so all economic aspects are dealt by this Department.

I am not communist as well - although moderately leftist - and see that Berlusconi's attitude to protect his own interests has brought my country close to bankruptcy.  I think we need to recover soon after the non-government action of the recent years.

P.S.: I love Visconti's "Morte a Venezia" and all Ozpetek's movies (the Turkish director living in Rome), often dealing with the theme of homosexuality (Le fate ignoranti, Saturno contro, La finestra di fronte, Mine vaganti, ...).
