A day ago, in the wee small hours I was woken up by a shrill ring that brutally interrupted my blissful slumber. As it turned out later the caller had dialed wrong. Incidentally, the rest of the night I didn’t sleep a wink. The next day I felt weary, sleepy, and grumpy cursing myself for not switching off the phone the night before.

A day ago, in the wee You continue to impress me my friend. wee hours is enough if they are wee they are small. wee small is redundant. I was woken up is fine.( I was awoken by) sounds fine also and is more formal agreeing with the rather formal tone of this writing. Either are OK. again a great job. Incidentally, the rest of the night I didn’t sleep a wink. The next day I felt weary, sleepy, and grumpy cursing myself for not switching off the phone the night before. Excellent work. The two words in brackets are a suggestion that I think make it sound a little more like how we would write it. Good luck |
