If I don' t want to spend much time on cooking I prepare a tasty and fresh salad. First of all I wash the ingredients like tomatoes; cucumber; green, red and yellow pepper (if I like I take the Turkish green pepper which is very hot) and fresh green onions. After draining I cut the cucumber, the tomatoes and the pepper into small pieces and chop the green onions. If I want I can add canned corn and kidney beans.
To prepare the dressing I use natural olive oil, fresh lemon juice, Italia n vinegar (balsamico) a little bit salt and pepper. After having mixed all the ingredients in a big bowl I put some fresh chopped parsley on top of the salad.
This dish is healty and doesn' t have much calories. The preparation doesn't take much time ;-)

Well done. You are right to put the definite article before the cucumber, tomatoes, etc., because you are referring back to the list you have already made of the ingredients. All my cookery books do the same.

Canned corn and kidney beans is a bit American (fine if that's what you want) but in England it would be more usual to say tinned corn, kidney beans, etc.

Otherwise, good work.

Thank you very much for describing the difference between the American and the English use of canned/tinned vegetable. It was very helpful ;-)
