According to the witness, when he heard a bang he looked up and saw that an helicopter crashed. After that, the sky was covered by white smoke and then, pieces of the helicopter started to fall down to the street, so everybody was in panic and started run in order to find a safe place.

What he was talking about there was pieces of the 'crane' falling down, witch he was standing under when the helicopter hit it.
