Parenting

Do you think that being a parent is different today from being a parent 100 years ago?

Yes, I think so, because the people spend many time before to bring up their babies especially mothers they work at home. Now parents work out and they have few time to stay with them.

Yes I think so, because the  people spent a lot of time before to bringing up their babies, especially mothers who worked at home.  Now, parents work out, and they have little time to spend with them.

Nicely done my friend! :-)

Yes, I think so, because the people used to spend a lot of time before to bringing up their babies, especially mothers who could work at home. Now parents work (out)* and they have much less time to stay with them.

* "work out" is what you do at the gym.  So I would say "Now parents work in offices and away from the home..."

Muy bien hecho!!!

Este es mi versión en inglés.

Yes, I believe this to be correct. Those people were able to spend more time in bringing up their children, because the mothers were at home, they did not have to go out to find work.

In this modern age, with all the financial pressures upon parents, modern mothers have to go out to work, to help to support the family, so they leave their children in the paid care of others, so therefore they do have as much time at home to care of their children.

Good morning Salek,

I agree with your version, except you have left out two words 'they do NOT have as much time at home to TAKE care of their children.'

Salek, please accept my apologies and to others that noticed and commented, because I had left out not, so therefore they do not have as much time at home to take care of their children..

'worked at home' because it is in the past tense.  'Work at home' is the present tense meaning it is happening now.

We 'work out' in a gymnasium but we 'work away from home' or 'outside the home'.

Hope you don't mind me correcting you.  I am a retired teacher of English!
