the general usage is "in the picture". but if you want, you can use "from the picture" too, it is ok.

I understand what you meant, but as a picture is a static object, I prefer to say "in the picture", which also conveys the message of "from the picture". I would use "from" preposition in dynamic objects, like "a frame from the movie". but as I said, you can use "from the picture" as well, that's a tiny detail.
