The plains and mountains in Ukraine became a home for a variety of plants and animals. Depending on the region, there are coniferous, deciduous and mixed forests with pine, oak, fir, beech and birch trees. Hoofed, fur and bird-game are also widespread. In the game-preserves one can hunt elk, wild boar, hare, fox, wolf, wild duck and goose. In the Black Sea and the Azov Sea there are marine species such as sturgeon, mackerel, bullhead, and so on. Rivers, lakes and man-made water storage reservoirs are inhabited with perch, bream, sander, pike, mirror carp, and trout. In summary, our flora and fauna look like a modern Garden of Eden, don’t they?
