If you really want to read something good written by a Swedish writer, just read the Millennium Trilogy. I only know the English title of the first book, which is "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and "Män som hatar kvinnor" in Swedish.

Hej!
I'm interested in swedish and danish (shouldn't be a big difference) literature, which is easy to read.
Astrid Lindgren is probably recommendable for beginners like me, but is there anything else?
Our teacher once recommended John Bauer, but I'm not sure if he's an author or just an illustrator. Is he a Swede at all?
