I guess that the Earth hour is an international initiative to turn off every electric and electronic device in the world during one hour. I saw some months ago that google promotes it. I can tell you exist an especial web page from google in order to reduce the energy consumption in your screen-monitor, but it is only useful if your monitor is VGA o SVGA on the contrary if your screen is LCD it is not useful. Please if I have errors on my grammar or my spelling please correct them.

The "earth hour" is a good initiative with the purpose to aware people around the world about the dangerous situation of our plannet, an initial intention was to get an hour of no-use-energy on the world.  So people turn off their TVs, computer, and all electricla device in order to relief the hot in the planet.

Hi members.

I think it's a good idea, but it must be "Earth Year" or maybe "Earth For ever"! One hour isn't enough.

About "Earth Hour":

Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth Hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008. Earth Hour 2010 took place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at participants' respective local time.

I work with environmental organizations and the Earth Hour is a great initiative. I am, however, schocked that you don't know what the Earth hour is.

The Earth Hour is a great idea, but it's not only 1 hour we must take care of the Earth but everytimes, all the days, all the hours, always. There is another initiative which is 10:10.
