I don’t know where it is I can not find it. = Ich weiß nicht wo es ist ich kann nicht es/es nicht finden.

This is a very nice collection of phrases!

Something to be careful about:

You translate :

I want with : ich will

The correct translation woud be: Ich möchte

You can translate : as you want it = wie Sie wollen ,also wie Sie es wünschen, or wie Sie möchten.

The world Wollen has to be used very carefully in the context with I. It easly sounds a bit unpolite. It is easyer to use the world : ich möchte ... If sombody askes you what you want and he or she may be included, you better say: Ich möchte gerne...Was möchten Sie heute tun? Möchten Sie noch etwas Kuchen?...Ich möchte gerne...

If you tell about a plan (only considering your plans) you may say: Nächtes Jahr will ich nach Amerika fahren. Ich will mir ein Auto kaufen.

oh! so when can we use "Ich will" meaning "I want" ?

It's stuck in my head from a pop song my roomate showed me:
"guten Tag, ich will mein Leben zurück" (G'day, I want my life back)

and I usually say "ich will ____ ", so should I switch it to "ich möchte ____ " from now on?

Wie Sie wollen....means : Just how you like it. In the sence. wollen wir ins Kino oder essen gehen? Antwort: Wie Sie wollen.

Tricky with German is, that you have two ways of adressing a person: the more formal Sie and the more informal Du.

You can't see from English which one would be the right one. So Sie you would use when you talk to a grown up person that you do not know. With a child you would say DU. If you are a student and you are at university you would say Du, though the studens are grown ups but the context is very informal. But to your professor you would say Sie.

I quite agree with you. I thought earlier that it`s better to study first grammar but we dont see our expected result and effects. And now I`m sure in learning the whole word combinations, replies, phrases. They are closer to real situations. The main important thing at the studieng is situation. I have one offer for you. Could you enter the theme ** At the custam^*in 2 languages, english and german?
