With a word that finished with a hissing -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -z, the ending of plural is -esbus

 bus - buses

kiss - kisses

box - boxes

If a word finished with a consonant + - y, the y falls and add - ies: family- families.

If a word finished with a vocal + - y, add -s

day - days

The nouns that finished in -f or -fe becomes in v, add -es

The exception of a few words

roof -  roofs.
