How To Get Chinese Text In Your Computer (如何能在你的电脑上打中文)

It's been a long time.  I hope life has treated all of you fairly and also hope you have been making great progress with your Chinese.

好久不见，希望这段时间里生活没有亏待你们，也希望你们的汉语有了很大进步。 

hǎojiǔ bújiàn。xīwàng zhè duàn shíjiān lǐ shēnghuó méiyǒu kuīdài nǐmen，yě xīwàng nǐmen de hànyǔ yǒu le hěndà jìnbù。

好久1不见2。希望3这4段5时间6里7生活8没有9亏待10你11，也12希望13你的14汉语15有16了17很大18进步19。

1.好久 hǎo jiǔ --- quite a while

2.不见 bù jiàn --- not see / not meet

3.希望 xī wàng --- to wish for / to desire / to hope

4.这 zhè --- this / these    

5.段 duàn ---  section / segment

6 时间 shí jiān --- time / period  

7.里 lǐ --- inside / internal / inside

8.生活 shēng huó --- life  

9.没有 méi yǒu --- haven't / hasn't / doesn't exist / to not have / to not be  

10.亏待 kuī dài --- treat unfairly

11.你 nǐ --- you

12.也 yě --- also / too

13.希望 xī wàng ---- to wish for / to desire / to hope

14.你的 nǐ de --- your / yours

15.汉语 hàn yǔ --- Chinese language

16.有 yǒu --- to have / there is / there are / to exist / to be

17.了 le  --- (completed action marker)

18.很大 hěn dà --- great, tremendous

19.进步 jìn bù --- progress

Many people wrote to me and asked how to enter Chinese characters into their computer. I hope this topic helps.

If you use Wndows Vista, it's very simple. You just need to activate your Chinese keyboard on your PC. 

Right click the language icon on your task bar --- click 'settings'  --- click 'add' button ( beside the list of the input language(s) you already have there.) ---- choose 'simplefied Chinese' ---- Chinese keyboard  ( Microsoft Pinyin IME is the one I use) ---- click OK, save ----- done ( this is a copy of my message in the topic "Q & A about Chinese Language".)
