Hello Marianna! :)
I think that Valentine Day is a very nice day.
My husband and I will have a romantic dinner. We have been* together for forty years.
*When you want to talk about something that happened in the past - and it still continues now, you use the words 'have (or 'has') +been+for to indicate time:
We have been together for forty years. They have been waiting for a bus for twenty minutes.
I have been working in a supermarket for ten years.. He has been ill for a month..
What a lovely way to spend a Valentine evening - do you live in Paris?
If you do....oohh...how romantic! :)
Thank you Marianna!
June :)

'Would you like another cup of coffee?' 'Have you got this dress in another colour?'
'I wish I had another pair of hands!' (This is said here in England when you are very, very busy!:)))
I think we will go another way home to avoid the town traffic!'
Thank you for your contribution whitecloud!

Hello Aynu!
I don't celebrate this day because I haven't got a valentine.
Actually Aynu, how we celebrate this dy today is different to years avgo.
Today, it is about people buying cards, wine, roses meals, presents etc . and it is a money making day for the shops, really.
It was meant to be a day for sweethearts, who either told each other of their love; or if someone liked another person, they would send a card to ask them to be their valentine and to see if they were loved by that person.
My husband sent me a Valentine card when we first met and we got engaged soon after! :-)
Sometimes people had a card and would not know who had sent it - then it was known as a secret admirer!
Although you haven't got a valentine, you still may get a card from a secret admirer in the future!
June :)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Are you romantic?
Have you sent a Valentine's card to someone?
Have you had a Valentine Card?
Young men and women who loved someone but were shy, used to send a Valentine card to the person they loved.
It was not signed and they used to tell the person they loved them.
Then they waited to see if the person knew they had sent the card.
If they did, they knew the other person loved them too!
Today, it is very commercial and husbands and wives send cards to each other..
Sweethearts send each other a card.
School children send them to each other.
I have even heard of people who send their pet dog or cat a Valentine card!
Everyody know who has sent them a card!
It used to be more exciting having a Valentine card (or a few!) and not to know who had sent them!
Also it was very flattering to know that you had a secret admirer! :))
What do you think about Valentine Day?
June :)

Hello June ...
I haven't a lover. But I am waiting for my Mr. right.I hope someone will give me roses.

Hello Otenne!
Welcome to our group! :)
I don't think I have welcomed you! :)
It is nice to meet you.
I haven't a lover, but I am waiting for my Mr Right! I hope someone will give me roses!
The word 'but' should not begin a sentence, Otenne because it is a conjunction or 'joining' word.
It is used to join phrases ands sentences and takes the place of 'however' or 'therefore' when joining a sentence:
I enjoyed my day out, but it rained and I got very wet.
I hope someone does buy you roses - and that it is Mr Right! :))

Hello June, How are you?, I hope you are well.
I celebrated Valentine's Day .
My husband gave me a greeting card with a chocolate's box.
I saw it, when I was having breakfast, He wasn't at home. He had gone to work.
Then I think that I could prepare a romantic dinner. This was what I did!
I like the Valentines's Day.
