I think dogs are bettter than cats. Why have I decided like that? It's simple. First of all dogs are loyal and clever. It is too hard to teach a cat some orders. I know a few people who can do that. One of them is Kuklachev. This man is a very famous trainer of cats. I might be wrong but there are all dogs (sorry cats) know who is Kuklachev in Russia. I have a dog, I am sure he will do what I want. Cats are more independent. This is else reason why I prefer dogs
Hello Oprofen! :)
I think that dogs are better than cats. Why have I decided this? It's simple; first of all dogs are loyal and clever, it is too hard to teach a cat to obey orders. I know a few people who can do this. One of them is Kuklachev, this man is a trainer of cats I might be wrong, but there are many dogs (sorry, cats) who know who Kuklachev is in Russia. I have a dog and I am sure that he will do what I want. Cats are more independent. This is another reason why I prefer dogs.
They do say that you own a dog, but a cat owns you! :)
We had a dog, Sammy who we had to have put to sleep last year. We are still upset over losing him so early and we can still cry about his death. He gave us nearly nine years of unconditional love. If he was shouted at (and he was naughty at times:)) he always came to us with his tail wagging when he knew he was forgiven.
We have had cats in the past, and if you shouted at them - they would take themselves off and sulk.
They would come back to you when they had forgiven you - normally at the next mealtime! :)
I think you are either a cat person or a dog person; it really doesn't matter, pets gives us many hours of pleasure and they leave a cat or a dog shaped hole in our lives when they leave us.
Thank you Oprofen for your contribution. I shall look up Kuklachev because I have never heard of him before! :)
I think, a dog are better than cats.
Welcome to our group. :)
I think that a dog is better than a cat.
When you write about one person or thing you use 'is':
There is a dog barking outside. The woman is playing tennis. The boy is crying.
When there is more than one person or thing you use 'are'
The dogs are barking outside. The women are playing tennis. The boys are crying.
Thank you Anna!
Hello Anna! :)
I think that a dog is* better than a cat.
* one item, person or thing = singular ; more than one item, person or thing = plural:
'..a dog is better than a cat' (singular) ; '..dogs are better than cats' (plural).
A house is bigger than a bungalow (singular) ; houses are bigger than bungalows
You usually add 's' on the end of a word to make it plural - but not always!
I agree with you and I wish I had a dog, but unfortunately I have not enough time for it. That means I would (I have to) the dog leaving allone the most time of the day, that is not good for a pet. A cat, which is most outside, it does not matter. I have had looking for Kuklachev in the Net, because I have never heard from him before. It was interesting, he had make shows in march in Germany. I'm impressed from teaching cats, I assumed that is not possible.

That means* I would have to leave a dog alone for most of the day and that is not good for a pet.
For a cat, which is mostly outside, this does not matter.

I am impressed as I assumed that it is not possible to train cats. (bettter in this order)
*You do not need this phrase to begin your sentence, as it suggests with the rest of the sentence that you are talking what what happen if you did have a dog:
If I had a dog, it would mean leaving the dog alone for most of the day.....'
Beginning the sentence 'I would have to leave a dog alone....': after saying that you do not have to time to look after a dog.....'I would have to leave a dog alone....' is a more logical conclusion.
Thank you for your contribution, Geka.
It is very sad when some one loves dogs but cannot have one because of the lack of time for its care.
It is also sensible because many people have a dog only to leave it alone all day - then wonder why the neighbours complain about the noise - and why they come home to a mess!
Sadly many of these poor animals end up getting abandoned somewhere and suffer a painful death if they are not found.
You are a true animal lover!
yeah my friend , you are very right.to me i like dog than cat, cause dog is very clearver than cat.and also dog can stand in to deffend you as well.
Welcome to our group. :)
I have just seen you here. :)
Always write in sentences Henry.
A sentence always begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
Let me show you:
Yes, my friend, you are right.
I like a dog better than a cat because a dog is more clever than a cat.
Also a dog can stand by you to defend you as well.
You put a in front of a word that is the name of one thing, item or person ( a noun):
a cat; a dog; a house; a tree; a boat; a book; a table; a bed
When there is more than one thing, item or person, you usually put 's' on the end of the noun:
cats ; dogs ; houses ; trees ; boats ; books ; tables ; beds
You have done well for a beginner Henry!
i love cats because the cats are clenear than a dogs and clean himself. on the other hand the dog will cry at the middle of the night and he do the disturbance but cat usually prefer to sleep. just my point of view
