The new year has brought many happiness to me. This is not necessary that this situation will be same with others. I spent most of time with relatives at the very start of the year. Just in case I have not said this: welcome to our group! :)
The new year had bought much happiness to me. This is not necessarily* the same situation as others I spent most of my time with relatives at the very start of the year.
I visited some new places like Karachi, Istanbul and Swat. The one thing I would like to share is related to my brother's visit to my home country as he is studying abroad at a certain university. I have also recently applied to this university as I also wish to study there.
* this is one of the words where 'ily' is attached on the end:
happy happily ; merry merrily ; crafty craftily
These are words which are adjectives: a happy man. A merry child. A crafty woman.
When you put 'ily' on the end, these words change to adverbs - words that give more infomation about an adjective or verb.
The man happily retired after working for over forty years.
The child sang merrily with her friends.
The woman craftily hid the price of the expensive new dress from her husband.
It is good to hear that someone has had a good start to the new year Abid!
Also, good luck for your application to enrol at the university!

I want to tell you about my start of the year a little.
January was amazing! At first I held the New Year holiday with my family in Siberia. And than I returned to the Moscow. After that I worked two weeks and had holidays again! It was a vacation on the work. And I went to the Thailand with my friend. It was wonderfull, so intresting country and friendly people, I never forget this trip:) I came back to Russia on February and started ordinary life again.
In conclusion it was a great start of the 2013 for me :)
And I want ask you, watch symbol next to the 280? It is euro? If it right I think that real tear and in Moscow the same price maybe cheaper a little depending on the clinic.

I want to tell you a little about the start of my new year.
January was amazing! At first I celebrated the New Year with my parents in Siberia and then I returned to Moscow. After that, I worked for two weeks and had two more holidays! I had a vacation from work and I went to Thailand with my friend. It was wonderful, suchan interesting country and friendly people. I will never forget this trip. :) I came back to Russia in February and back to normal life again.
In conclusion, it was a great start to 2013 for me!
Also, I want to ask you, what is the symbol next to 280? Is it the Euro? If it is, I think that the treatment? In Moscow it would be the same price, maybe cheaper, depending on the clinic.
It is the pound symbol (£) Fortunately our system is still the decimal currency - although most of us wish we had our old sterling system back, pounds, shillings and pence. :))

I have just had to make a few adjustments.
The main comment that I would make is that you do not begin a sentence with 'and' inEnglish.
This word is used as a 'joining' word (proper term 'conjunction). It is one of many and is used to join phrases and sentences where you are making a comment on what you have written, or to add something exta.
This means that the information has to be in one longer sentence, or you can make two short sentences by leaving out the word 'and' :
I was late for work this morning and I had to walk to work because I missed my bus.

I am curious to hear your experiences.
Our year didn't start very well with my husband being illl and he still is not fully recovered.
The other day I broke a tooth on a hard roast potato in a restaurant.
It cost me £280 to have it treated at the dentist....ouch!!!!! :(((
Many people have told me that they have not had a good start to 2103 here in England.
I wonder if the rest of the world within our group has .had a good or a bad start to 2013?

A sentence always begins with a capital letter and usually ends with a full stop.
