Indian food is different from rest of the world not only in taste but also in cooking methods.
Just like Indian culture, food in India has also been influenced by various civilizations, which have contributed their share in its overall development and the present form.Foods of India are better known for its spiciness.Throughout India, be it North India or South India, spices are used generously in food. But one must not forget that every single spice used in Indian dishes carries some or the other nutritional as well as medicinal properties.

Yes you are right. South, North, East and West parts of india have different types of Foods which are spicy too.
I am in west side so i can tell you about the food available in west is chapati made up of Wheat, then Roti made up of Jawar, Rice, all kinds of vegatable and Waran. This is called as Maharashtrian food. Maharashtrians can never be satisfied with any other food. So most of the Maharashtrians never leave there place. They always want to be there...
For southern India, the speciality is with Rice. They have n number of dishes of rice and fish.
Northern part has foods such as Gujarati, Punjabi dishes and many more.
