What do you do at home to reduce your negative impact on the environment?

I sort the trash or the garbage (I'm not sure?) at home. It's not always easy. I use ecological products (in the washer, in the dishwasher, for washing the floors, for example).

In British English it's 'rubbish'.  Trash and garbage are two of the, to us, less attractive American words.  :-)

(Now I'm waiting for an American to tell me what sounds strange about our English to their ears).

Hello. About British-American. I used to study in American accent but now, because I'm going to go to Australia and I need to get my IELTS, so I'm working on it in British English. Both are good, but I think British is original one!

Anyway, all "Trash", "Garbage" and "Rubbish" are bad things and we sholuld try to reduce them.

I think less "rubbish" in U.K and less "trash" or "garbage" in the U.S. is best ... where-ever you are "less is more."

Hi Liza, I want to do less work, so I can stay much time, in bed, so I haven't to use electricity in my house, but sometimes things are not like you says...less work is not much money. But I think is wrong that people to eat have to go to the super market to buy everythings. When the world started there weren't money and the environment was respected also together the animals, today we just go to the shop and the other person give us the food ready, very often with chemical stuff inside, yes but also we stay to work 8 hours a day in the boring offices to ill our minds or to work in more heavy work? So, what I wanted to say Liza?

So do I, for the trash and products used. But I don't use a dish washer. In the past, I had problems with one. And now, my husband prefers to wash up by himself : less noise, no electricity, and in fact it's more quickly done.  A question of habit, in fact…

Friendly regards to everybody,

Nicole

Hi Nicole! You're lucky if your husband do the wash up. You're speaking four languages! Wonderful.

Best regards,  Nicole from France.

Good idea, Nicole. Unfortunately, l use to wash my dresses with a dish washer... because l am not married (!).That's enough joking...  l usually classify garbages and at work, l try to economize paper every day, re-using the dirty paper.

Have a nice day and see you soon

Très intéressant, ce que tu indiques ci-après, sur le scandale du tri sélectif à Marseille ! Pas très étonnant, hélas !

Hello everyone,

Actually, I'm very concern about ecological issues. I consider that ecology must be a way to save money and consequently a way to avoïd wastefulness.

For example, I use a mob to wash up and do it with white vinegar.

Best regards eric.ecole
