Returning to the Epistle of Paul and the Amour of God Eph 6:10-18, I recap on my son’s mission in the Pacific, or more closely, at his preparation to serve among our Island families. The Islands are a perfect place for him to be, having been reared among the more remote and quiet regions of New Zealand in our own culture with principles and aspirations that are respectful of traditional values.
I remember taking him away from our beautiful family and home in the Eastern Bay of Plenty – with the hope of separating him from a future that could have gone tragically bad for him and the rest of my boys. Gang and drug activities are prone among my people, and even though my family are of a high standing in the tribes, young men such as mine will always be attracted to hoodlumism. And how can we avoid it when the music in the air is more ‘wrapity’ full of ‘crapity’.
If you love your children, show them roads to happiness and prison them not on paths to no where.
