Our user stories
Meet Denise
Why are you learning a language?
I love to speak to other people, to learn about their culture, to appreciate our sameness and our differences. I am fluent in English, French and Spanish, and fairly good in Italian. I am working on German and Polish now.
Are there any techniques you use to keep yourself on track that you'd like to share with other language learners?
I keep my computer language programs on my phone as well as on my desktop and my laptop. Whenever I have down time, I can review a lesson or correct someone else's work.
What do you enjoy most about learning a language on Busuu?
The contact with real people. Though I have never met any in person, the regular contact has opened my world to experience so many beautiful people across the globe.
How would you describe Busuu in one sentence?
Busuu is a relatively inexpensive program to teach world languages and cultures, using small incremental steps to lead people to learn and master another language and to communicate with native speakers of the language studied to help give context to the lessons.
What has studying on Busuu helped you to do in the real world?
I have made friends with people around the globe and helped share my knowledge of English grammar and phonology with those attempting to learn it.
Have you had any good conversations on Busuu or met someone from Busuu in real life?
I have daily conversations with a group of students of Polish and English. I also Skyped one of my Polish tutors.
